Becoming an Austin J40 Pedal Car Owner
Owning an Austin J40 is about more than simply purchasing a pedal car. These iconic British classics are cherished by collectors and enthusiasts worldwide, with each surviving example carrying its own character and history.
Whether you are seeking an original unrestored J40, a restoration project or a beautifully restored example, we can offer specialist guidance to help you make an informed purchase.
Making Dreams & Memories
One of our favourite examples is this striking yellow Austin J40, sold unrestored to a passionate enthusiast who took it to the legendary Settrington Cup at Goodwood Revival. Like many of our customers, they fulfilled a long-held dream — seeing their child race down the famous Goodwood straight in front of thousands of cheering spectators.
It’s moments like these that remind us why the J40 isn’t just a toy — it’s a piece of living motoring history, ready to make new memories.

Condition, originality, and restoration
Every Austin J40 is different. Some retain much of their original character, while others have undergone restoration or require further attention.
We aim to provide clear, accurate descriptions of the pedal cars we offer, including their condition, originality and known restoration history. Where appropriate, our specialist restoration services can also help bring a J40 to your preferred standard.
